Value Creation Practicum – Course Opportunity

Value Creation Practicum – Fall 2016

What does an employer expect from an MBA that it does not from a non-MBA?  To create value from an organization’s assets.  Learn how to create value for your (an) employer rather than managing its existing resources in MBA 590.003/603 Value Creation Practicum in Fall 2016.   Students will work in consulting teams for an entrepreneurial business, or an organization needing assistance with major growth initiatives, launching new business lines, creating new products or services, or restructuring or realigning a product or market opportunity.
This practicum is based on a break-through innovation system developed by Professors Stephen Markham and Paul Mugge in the Center for Innovation Management Studies (CIMS)  At the end of the semester, students should be able to:
  •  Create new value propositions needed to generate sustainable top-line growth
  • Understand innovation as a core business process
  • Use analytical tools to find, select, evaluate and build ideas into real business opportunities
  • Implement innovative opportunities in an organization
This is a practicum option for students who desire to develop strategic visioning, innovation, and analytical tools which are applicable for practically all business functions and industries.

This course is taught at the Frontier in RTP.  Register via MyPackPortal.  For more information, watch this video, or contact Michelle Grainger, CIMS Managing Director, mgrainger@ncsu.edu.
