Welcome back to our returning students, and welcome to all of our new Jenkins MBA students starting classes this fall! The Jenkins MBA Program, MBA Student Association (MBASA), and the Professional MBA Leadership Board (PMBA) invite you and your family to a baseball game with your fellow MBAs at NC State Night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday, August 28th at 5:05 p.m. Watch as the Durham Bulls take on the Gwinnett Braves in a special section reserved for our MBA students. Ticket limit is set to 5 tickets per student. If you need to request additional tickets, please email Claire Jefferies at email@example.com. The deadline to request tickets is Wednesday, August 24th – be sure to RSVP soon as more than half the available tickets have already been accounted for. Hope to see you at the ball game!
MBA Graduate Assistant Contract – New and Returning Students
All new and returning Graduate Assistants and Scholars should review the Jenkins MBA Graduate Assistant Contract and acknowledge that you understand the terms and conditions of the contract by Wednesday, August 24th. If you have any questions, please see Claire Jefferies.
MBA Marketplace Debrief Session – Monday, August 22nd
Lewis Sheats will be hosting an informal debrief session on MBA Marketplace for 1st Year MBA students on Monday, August 22nd from 11:45 – 12:45 in Nelson Hall 1130. In this session, he will provide more details on the judge’s feedback from Marketplace and why the top teams were selected as winners. Pizza will be provided.
Nelson Hall Building Reminders
Nelson Hall and all classrooms close at 10 p.m. Please be aware that campus police will be called to escort students out of the building if the building hour rules are not observed.
The MBA Lounge is a space that is shared by full-time & professional evening – main campus MBA students, as well as students in the MGLM & MGIM programs. Therefore, you may see some unfamiliar faces from time to time in the lounge. We understand that space can be an issue in Nelson, but remember that places like DH Hill and Hunt Library have tons of great study spaces – and a graduate lounge – that are easy to access and reserve.

NC State’s Poole College of Management Presents Jia Jiang’s 100 Days of Rejection – Friday, August 26th
“The fear of rejection is one of the top fears for people in sales, recruiting and entrepreneurship. It holds them back from closing deals, finding the best talent, and realizing their dreams and ideas.
I help people turn rejection on its head, inspire them to embrace and even look for rejection, and teach them to turn rejections into opportunities. I use my methodology to train people to be fearless, so they can sell more, think bigger, and achieve higher.” – Jia Jiang
Join PCOM for a talk by Jia Jiang, author of “Rejection Proof: How I Beat Fear and Became Invincible Through 100 Days of Rejection,” in 3400 Nelson Hall on Friday, August 26th from 3 – 4:30 p.m. You can learn more about Jia on his website or by watching a video clip from one of his talks.
