Jenkins MBA Climbs Significantly in Worldwide Ranking from The Economist

NC State’s Jenkins MBA program is among the top 50 programs worldwide, according to The Economist‘s latest ranking of full-time MBA programs. The Economist ranked the Jenkins full-time MBA program at the Poole College of Management No. 36 on its list of the top 100 global MBA programs, up 57 spots from the 2019 ranking of No. 93. Once again placing in the top-50 MBA programs in the United States and in the top-25 U.S.-based public institutions.

NC State was ranked especially highly along five dimensions:

  • #18: Percentage of graduates with jobs within three months of commencement
  • #6: Alumni ranking of career services
  • #35: Salary increase pre and post-graduation
  • #22: Student and Faculty diversity
  • #28: Faculty quality

The Economist collected data during spring 2020, using two surveys. The first was completed by schools with eligible programs and covered quantitative matters such as the salary of graduates, the average GMAT scores of students and the number of registered alumni. This accounted for around 80 percent of the ranking. The remaining 20 percent was derived from a qualitative survey filled out by current MBA students and schools’ most recent graduating MBA classes. The Economist asked respondents to rate things such as the quality of the faculty, facilities and career services department.

Over the past years, NC State Jenkins MBA graduates have realized a significant growth in average starting salary ––reaching $103,500 this year. The program credits a Career Center team that emphasizes experiential learning, leadership development and customization.
