Kristin Siebenaler Brings 20 Years of Leadership Experience to the Business Analytics Initiative

NC State Poole College of Management announced Kristin Siebenaler as the director of the Business Analytics Initiative (BAI). Siebenaler will be serving alongside Bill Rand, executive director of the BAI and associate professor of marketing.

Siebenaler brings over 20 years of experience as a project and program leader at several organizations in the Triangle including RTI International, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and Duke Clinical Research Institute. In these roles she directed large, complex sponsored research collaborations with academic and community partners as well as foundation, government and business clients.

“Kristin brings invaluable experience to NC State,” said Rand. “She has done fantastic work with globally preeminent groups at UNC and Duke, and now she is completing the Triangle trifecta at the best institution in the area. She will be the key to taking the Business Analytics Initiative to the next level.”

As director of the BAI, Siebenaler is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the BAI and engaging in long-term and strategic planning. She will continue to build the BAI portfolio of offerings to ensure its value grows for faculty scholars, students, the broader NC State campus and for business leaders and foundations.

“The BAI is looking at data analytics across many industry sectors and that intrigued me,” said Siebenaler. “I was attracted to the multi-faceted approach to the initiative, including education, research and engagement activities. I am thrilled to be here!”

Siebenaler received a Bachelor of Arts in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Outside of work, Siebenaler enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, reading, and traveling. You can often find her running on the Black Creek Greenway at Lake Crabtree or attending her kids’ athletic events. Her spouse, Rob Van Arnam, is an IP attorney in Raleigh. She has two children: Kara, a rising freshman at Boston College, and Nick, a rising sophomore at Cardinal Gibbons High School. In tow are one dog, Nola, and two cats, Moe and Bean.
