Thomas LaDew Named Events Specialist for the Office of Business Services
Poole College of Management was recently announced Thomas LaDew as the newest member of the Office of Business Services serving as the event specialist effective Aug. 30. LaDew will be replacing Kathy Ford, former operations assistant, who left the college in July 2021 and the position was revised to best fit the needs of the college.
LaDew comes to NC State from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School where he served as event coordinator for six years. Prior, he worked as an event planner for local Triangle golf and country clubs.
“We are very excited to welcome Thomas LaDew to the OBS and Poole team,” said Jonathan Hennessy, operations manager. “Thomas brings six years of events and reservations experience at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill. We are confident that his previous events experience, calm under pressure demeanor, and ability to deliver excellent customer service will benefit the college tremendously!”
In this new role, LaDew will be working closely with each Poole College program to provide support and assistance with events and to create a more cohesive and streamlined approach to event planning and implementation. He will also be overseeing classroom and event space reservations, maintaining a college-wide events calendar, and assisting with all levels of event logistics.
“Ever since graduating in 2011, I knew I wanted to be back at NC State,” said LaDew. “With my previous professional experience and Poole College’s excellent reputation, it was an easy decision to pursue this opportunity. It feels great being back on campus and I can’t wait to get started.”
LaDew received a Bachelor of Science in sports management from the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University in 2011.
When he is not at Poole College, LaDew likes to play golf, cook and go to as many NC State football and basketball games as possible.
