Meet the 2023-24 Jenkins Graduate McLauchlan Fellows

Get to know the 22 Jenkins Graduate students who have been selected as McLauchlan Leadership Fellows for the 2023–24 academic year.

The Poole College of Management has announced its McLauchlan Leadership Fellows for the 2023-24 academic year. The new Fellows—consisting of 22 Jenkins Graduate Programs students—will complete the McLauchlan Leadership Series during the spring 2024 semester. This is the 9th year of the program.

As McLauchlan Fellows, the 22 students will participate in a series of experiential learning activities and networking events designed to instill essential skills in personal, team and organizational leadership.

Originally established in 2015 as a leadership development opportunity for Jenkins MBA students following a generous gift from Russ and Cara McLauchlan, this year marks the first time the program has accepted applications from the Master of Management, Marketing Analytics (MMA) and Master of Management, Risk and Analytics (MRA) programs.

One MRA student, one MMA student and 20 MBA students will join 212 McLauchlan Leadership Series alumni upon completion of the program.

“I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to open the program to other Jenkins graduate students this year,” said Leigh Shamblin, director of leadership development and professor of practice at NC State Poole College of Management.

“Mentorship is also an important feature of the McLauchlan Leadership Series. I’m excited that this year’s Fellows will be providing at least 10 hours of mentorship to our Poole undergraduate students once they become McLauchlan alumni.”

The 22 new McLauchlan Fellows are a diverse group of individuals from all over the world with backgrounds in marketing, engineering, data science, compliance, the military and more.

Poole College will honor the McLauchlan Fellows with a kickoff event and reception Friday, November 17.
