Shifts in Customer Habits Reshape the Raleigh Restaurant Scene
Since the start of the year, at least seven restaurants have closed their doors in and around downtown Raleigh, with some continuing operations elsewhere. Restaurant owners are pointing to changes in consumer habits.
Poole College Economics Professor Steve Allen also pointed out that while several restaurants have closed this year, the industry is constantly changing, and more restaurants are opening.
“This is an industry subject to constant change, so you’re always going to see new restaurants opening, and we’ve got a bunch opening,” he said.
