Sheron Branham is an accomplished engineer and passionate leader with over 18 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Sheron is currently leading the startup of a new manufacturing facility in the oligonucleotide space for Biogen, a global biotech leader in neuroscience. In her current role, she is responsible for building the process engineering and manufacturing functions from the ground up as well as managing the technical transfer activities for Biogen’s pipeline of oligonucleotide-based therapies. Sheron’s first role at Biogen began four years ago when she successfully led the process transfer and validation of Biogen’s first major oral solid dosage therapy, internalizing another new manufacturing platform capability for Biogen. Prior to her work with Biogen, Sheron managed several successful teams and projects throughout her tenure with companies such as Merck, Glaxosmithkline, and Sandoz. In her career, she has been fortunate to have had the chance to build three new high performing teams from the ground up. Sheron’s leadership style is highly focused on creating a positive organizational culture, establishing a vision for the team, and achieving results.
Sheron has a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and is planning to graduate from the MBA program in May, 2018. She is pursuing a certificate in Decision Analytics and is hoping to use her new skills to grow her career at Biogen. Since starting the MBA program with NC State she has already found many opportunities to leverage the knowledge she has gained in her current role.
