Captain Frederick D. Hersey is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a Bachelor degree in Music Education. Upon graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. After completing the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader’s Course, he was assigned to Delta Company, 1-33rd Cavalry, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne (Air Assault) where he served in the positions of Distribution Platoon Leader & Maintenance Platoon leader. Upon Completion of the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, he was assigned to 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne as the Brigade Assistant S-4 and Support Operations Transportation OIC. He commanded both Bravo Company and Echo Company of the 407th BSB while in the 82nd. CPT Hersey has been with the 406th Army Field Support Brigade since 2015 where he has worked with Army Prepositioned Stocks, unit reset, and unit reorganization and served as the Team Chief for the Group Logistics Support Team and Brigade Logistics Support Team.

He has completed deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007-2008, Operation Unified Response Haiti in 2010, Operation New Dawn 2011 and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel / Operation Resolute Support in 2017. CPT Hersey’s Army Schools Include: Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Mortuary Affairs Officers Course, Sling Load Inspector Certification Course, Air Assault, Airborne, and Jumpmaster.
