Q: Why did you choose the NC State Jenkins MBA program for your graduate education?

A: The online flexibility and the cost.

Q: How did your experience in the program contribute to your professional achievements and successes?

A: I was able to obtain a management level job in the private sector and almost triple my salary.

Q: What did you enjoy most about your time in the Jenkins MBA program?

A: I loved every single course! I learned so much about the business world, but most of all I learned so much about myself that I was completely unaware of.

Q: What do you miss most now that you have graduated?

A: Learning new things and exploring new ways of thinking and solving problems.

Q: What are a few of the most impactful classes/lessons you learned during your time at NC State?

A: The Art and Science of Negotiation, Women in Leadership, Risk Management, and Contract Management

Q: What are your lasting impressions of the Jenkins MBA program?

A: I had so much support from all of my professors and the Dean in order to be successful. I was happy to graduate, but sad for it to end as I was truly enjoying all of the new and exciting classes being offered.

Q: What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession?

A: Get the MBA and take as many diverse classes as you can. Make your education as focused, yet well rounded as possible. Take advantage of the career coaching from the beginning, and definitely apply to be a McLauchlan Fellow.

Q: What advice do you have for prospective Jenkins MBA students?

A: Take as many diverse classes as possible and challenge yourself to experience new things. Take every opportunity available to you to learn about yourself. Start career coaching early on, it will help you in your current role and help you grow into your future role. Apply for the McLauchlan Leadership fellowship, it will teach you more about yourself than you would have imagined and provide you valuable tools to be a leader in all aspects of your life.

Q: Could you give a brief explanation of your current line of work, and what has led you to it?

A: I am a Compliance and Privacy Manager in healthcare. It just kind of came to me through various lateral moves and promotions. It encompasses everything I love from contracts, to business law, to internal process and auditing.

Q: What do you believe is your most interesting accomplishment since graduation?

A: It helped me get my current role, and helped me get promoted from an NC line of business Compliance Manager to a Corporate Compliance Manager that supports NC, SC, and LA
