What are a few of the most impactful classes/lessons you learned during your time at NC State?
As an engineering undergrad with operations background I had limited exposure to marketing and corporate finance. Both of these classes gave me the knowledge and perspective to influence different shareholders as I look to drive transformation in my current role.
What are your lasting impressions of the Jenkins MBA program?
The program was a good fit for my needs, I will remain engaged to continue to network and look for lifelong learning opportunities.
What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession?
Networking is critical, find mentors to help guide you.
What advice do you have for prospective Jenkins MBA students?
Prepare for a challenging but rewarding journey, get help from co-workers/spouse so you can be fully engaged during your time in school.
Could you give a brief explanation of your current line of work, and what has led you to it?
I am currently leading an internal consulting team who drives our global manufacturing strategy and operations teams at Lenovo. What led me here was an IE co-op job that I got while in undergrad at IBM 20 years ago.
What do you believe is your most interesting accomplishment since graduation?
Going global; prior to graduation I was in a regional/US based role, now I am responsible for operations around the world.
What are your goals and plans for the future?
My goals are to continue to grow my influence, responsibility and network to provide me with engaging and challenging opportunities as my career progresses.
