Meet Yessel Davis (left), an online #NCStateMBA student and a Program Control Analyst at Applied Research Associates. While Yessel was taking a hybrid MBA 580 class (Creating Value in Organizations) during our inaugural #PACKedSaturday, her husband Matt (right) and son Avery (middle) stopped by in Nelson Hall to chat with our staff and faculty.
“Taking this hybrid course has allowed me to better interact with fellow MBA students I wouldn’t have met otherwise. It was also refreshing to get away from my typical place of study,” shared Yessel.
Thank you to all the family members and friends of our students for being the pillars of support on this MBA journey!

#NCStateMBA inaugural #PACKedSaturdays 🐺 👏🏼
70+ online MBA and Master of Management students, as well as MBA alumni, experienced a Saturday full of networking and in-person learning on NC State campus.
PACKed Saturdays include four hours of in-person instruction, lunch talks, plus networking lunches and coffee breaks to increase engagement and foster networking among online working professional students.
This Saturday, we offered MBA 580 Creating Value in Organizations, MBA 590 Art & Science of Negotiation and MBA 533 Negotiation and Conflict Management. Over the lunch, professor Chris Hitch delivered a powerful presentation “CEO of your Life” about creating the life and career you aspire to have.
“The kind of flexibility that our #NCStateMBA program is going to offer is phenomenal. Students might choose to take three online courses and one hybrid course, or they might choose to take 100% of their courses online,” Vikas Anand says, associate dean of academic programs at #NCStatePoole. “Our goal with these is to enhance the MBA experience and increase the number of choices we’re offering students. We’re committed to making sure that whatever choice students make, they have a great learning experience.”
We look forward to having our working professional students in Nelson Hall this fall!

Meet Kayla Bashore, MBA, a recent #NCStateMBA graduate with a remarkable story. A first-generation college student (and alumna of the University of Florida), Kayla wanted an MBA experience to remember. She chose NC State largely because of the culture and diversity of her fellow students.
Fast forward to today, where Kayla is an Experience Sustainability Analyst at @chs_inc .
“When I arrived at the Jenkins MBA program, I started to have a stronger interest in sustainability which was reinforced through meeting Professor Jessica Yinka Thomas. As a graduate assistant at the MBA program I was randomly paired with Professor Thomas who teaches an undergraduate business ethics course. By sitting and listening in her class, I got more and more interested in sustainability and was eventually asked to join the Business Sustainability Collaborative (@bsc.poole.ncstate ) team as a BSC Associate, where I was then able to take a leadership role in planning FoodCon 2023,” shared Kayla.
