Spotlight on Poole College of Management’s Dean Annette Ranft

Annette Ranft comes to campus after serving as senior associate dean of academic affairs at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business. Take a moment to to learn about Dean Ranft’s experience and how she plans to build upon the Poole College of Management’s success here.

Two Graduate Student Research Positions Available

Dr. Beverly Tyler, professor in the Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, is seeking students for a National Science Foundation (NSF) nanomedicine project and a Laboratory of Analytic Sciences (LAS) project. These positions are open to US citizens and require 5 – 10 hours of work per week. Durham Bulls vs. Gwinnett Braves Game – Sunday, August 28th

McLauchlan Leadership Fellows Applications Open

Applications are now open for the popular McLauchlan Leadership Fellows program. McLauchlan Leadership Fellows master the fundamentals of personal, team, and organizational leadership through lectures, group discussions, guided assessments, individual coaching, external speakers, and a personal leadership challenge. This fellows program is non-credit bearing. Contact Dr. Leigh Shamblin (lsbrown2@ncsu.edu) with any questions.

Free tickets for tomorrow’s FastTrack Session: Value Propositions and Elevator Speeches

Net Impact Conference Scholarship

International Peace Scholarship for International Women Graduate Students

The International Peace Scholarship Fund is a program that provides scholarships for selected women from other countries for graduate study in the United States and Canada. The purpose of the award is to assist a select group of goal-oriented international women who have the potential to return to positions of influence in their homelands. The overall goal is to foster peace through education. Applicants must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study and working toward a graduate degree. A student who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of Canada is not eligible. Academic Advising & Registration 

Census Date/Official Enrollment Date is August 30th!!!

Census Date = the last day to add a course with permission of instructor, and last day for tuition refunds due to dropping a course. PLEASE NOTE that even if your class doesn’t begin until later in the semester due to the 5 week/10 week schedule OR if you are taking a one-credit class that doesn’t meet until the latter part of the semester, the August 30th Census Date still applies to you. Contact your academic advisor if you have any questions about this!

NC State’s Poole College of Management Presents Jia Jiang’s 100 Days of Rejection – Friday, August 26th

Join PCOM for a talk by Jia Jiang, author of “Rejection Proof: How I Beat Fear and Became Invincible Through 100 Days of Rejection,” in 3400 Nelson Hall on Friday, August 26th from 3 – 4:30 p.m. You can learn more about Jia on his website or by watching a video clip from one of his talks.

Second Year Salon Series: Kickoff Event – Wednesday, August 31st

Join the CMC for an informal lunch discussion with Bev Porter – Your Internship: Loved It? Loathed It? Now What? Resume Writing and Interviewing Tips for Job-Seeking Veterans – Monday, September 19th

Offered in partnership with First Citizens Bank, Jenkins MBA student and alumni veterans are invited to learn from First Citizens employees about how you can leverage your military background and MBA degree when applying to corporate opportunities. This is the first session in a two-part series. Part two will be offered Spring 2017: An Exploration of Military vs. Corporate Culture. More information here.

Jenkins Fall Mix & Mingle – Sunday, October 16th

This unique event offers Jenkins graduate management students and company executives the opportunity to build relationships and explore career opportunities in a social setting.
