MBA Support Team Message – You Can Do It!!!!

As we head into November, the fall semester is just about over – can you believe that?!?! With that being said we know that you are all juggling a lot with regards to classes, career searches, clubs, GA positions as well as trying to have some semblance of a personal and/or social life. The journey through your MBA experience will no doubt be extraordinary, challenging and transformational. Please know that you are not going through this journey alone! The advising and student affairs team is here for you so please reach out to us – advisor Vilma Mueller [while Sarah is out] and assistant dean, Nichole Miller are here to help you be successful! Additionally, your peers, faculty and other staff members are here to support you as well so be sure to reach out should you need some support or advice – don’t be shy!

October 18th Enrollment (Registration) for 2017 Spring and Summer terms

Spring and Summer 2017 Registration
Enrollment for the Spring and Summer 2017 terms begins on Tuesday, October 18th
Students should check the MyPack Portal to confirm your specific enrollment day/time and that you have no “Holds,” which will prevent enrollment
Log into MyPack Portal > Student Self Service >Student Center > Holds can be found in the right-hand sidebar

Students should reach out to their advisors with any questions pertaining to course selection and/or registration

Directions when searching for paired core courses:
When searching for the paired core classes you will need to uncheck the following filter on the “class search.” If this box remains checked, then the class search will not return the second class since it has the same meeting pattern; i.e., the courses are scheduled for the same day and time so the system views this as a conflict which is why you have to uncheck that box.

Make Privacy Adjustments –  Deadline October 28th

Make privacy information adjustments – Names of graduating students will not be published in the graduation program or in any official press release if the student has a privacy setting preventing such release. Students must ensure that their “privacy settings” in the MyPack Portal indicate their intention for inclusion in or exclusion from these publications. Check with Registration and Records for help completing this step. Deadline to remove the privacy block is October 28, 2016.

December 2016 Graduation Checklist

Students planning on graduating in the current semester should review the updated Graduation Checklist to view all graduation process details.  Those planning to complete MBA coursework and graduate in December 2016 must complete the checklist by Monday, October 31st, 2016.

Volunteers Needed – Innovative Women’s Conference

We need volunteers to help run this event. Please complete this survey if you are interested in volunteering. The survey includes additional details about available positions, timing, and locations for both days. The deadline to register for these opportunities is November 6th, 2016. The Innovative Women’s Conference (December 1-2)

Hosted by the National Association of Women MBAs – NC State Jenkins MBA chapter and sponsored by the Jenkins MBA Student Association (MBASA), this event is designed to bring together women in the Triangle area – from graduate students to entrepreneurs to corporate executives – to encourage discussion and hands-on learning in the areas of business innovation, science, technology and entrepreneurship.

The conference will kick-off Thursday, December 1 at 6:00 pm with a networking social at HQ Raleigh sponsored by RJ Reynolds. This will be followed by a full day of engaging workshops, panels, and speakers Friday, December 2 at NC State’s Talley Student Center sponsored in part by NetApp.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Women for Success.
