FREE WAFFLES on a Reading Day! Join us for “Pack on the Patio” with free waffles, toppings, and coffee on Wednesday, December 7 from 11am-1pm on the brick patio in front of Pullen Hall.
The event is sponsored by Waffle House, the Career Development Center, and the Engineering Village.

NC State Graduate Student Value Creation Practica Final Presentations, December 1, 2016 6pm – 9pm

Four student teams will be presenting their projects, representing Bell and Howell, Biologics, Syngenta Crop Protection and Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions. The students represent the following graduate programs; Jenkins MBA, the College of Ag and Life Sciences’ MMB Program, BTEC and Department of Forest Biomaterials.

Given the hour of the presentations, we will be providing lite bites for everyone. In an effort to assist in catering and room set-up, please RSVP at your earliest convenience. We hope to see you on the 1st!

UNC Kenan-Flagler Net Impact Chapter Forum

Join the UNC Kenan-Flagler Net Impact Chapter for an afternoon of panels and networking with professionals working in environmental sustainability and social impact. The Forum will feature representatives from: Fourth Factor Advisors, Burt’s Bees, General Electric, Bank of America, RTI International, Strata Solar, Development Finance Initiative, Scott Madden, Deloitte, Ernst & Young among others. Startup Analyst Fellowship

NC IDEA is accepting applications for the Startup Analyst Fellowship. NC IDEA’s Startup Analyst Fellowship program consists of a year-long/two semester fellowship for 1st year MBA students (and into their 2nd year). This program is ideal for students interested in 1) having an investment career with an angel/venture capital firm or 2) entrepreneurially minded students looking to enhance their knowledge of the startup landscape in North Carolina and/or gain a better understanding how young ventures are evaluated by investors. Supply Chain – Call For Scholarships – Deadline February 28th, 2017

The Material Handling Education Foundation, Inc. (www.mhefi.net) is an independent charitable organization that was established in 1976 with a mission to promote the study of material handling, logistics and supply chains by exposing students and educators to the industry through financial support. The Foundation will offer scholarship award opportunities to students who are committed to studying material handling, supply chain and logistics for the 2017/2018 academic term.  Check out mhefi.fludreview.com for more information.

Academic Advising & Registration 

Raleigh Residency #2 – Save The Date

For all the students required to register for Raleigh Residency #2, this core course is now listed as MBA 590-053 (professional evening main campus) and MBA 590-653 (RTP/online) under the Summer I 2017 schedule. RR #2 is scheduled for June 22-24, 2017 in Raleigh. You will see it listed as a 10-week course under the course title but this is only a 3 day course.  

Curriculum requirement reminder for those students who started the MBA program before Fall 2016

If you are a student that started the MBA program prior to Fall 2016, you need to be looking to take MBA 503, MBA 504 and MBA 530 by this summer. Once we head into Fall 2017 classes, these ‘legacy’ courses will no longer be offered which means you would have to take the new curriculum requirements which are as follows:

Professional Evening MBA students
Professional Online MBA students

The MBA recruiting season is in full bloom.  Recruiters are coming to campus, career fairs are approaching, and the Jenkins CMC is hosting many employer engagement events. If you choose to engage in on-campus recruiting and other employment engagement events we ask that you pass some minimum requirements to prove you can present the NC State Jenkins brand as well as your own brand in ways of which you can be proud.

Student Life

The Innovative Women’s Conference (December 1-2)

Hosted by the National Association of Women MBAs – NC State Jenkins MBA chapter and sponsored by the Jenkins MBA Student Association (MBASA), this event is designed to bring together women in the Triangle area – from graduate students to entrepreneurs to corporate executives – to encourage discussion and hands-on learning in the areas of business innovation, science, technology and entrepreneurship.

The conference will kick-off Thursday, December 1 at 6:00 pm with a networking social at HQ Raleigh sponsored by RJ Reynolds. This will be followed by a full day of engaging workshops, panels, and speakers Friday, December 2 at NC State’s Talley Student Center sponsored in part by NetApp.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Women for Success.
