Q: Why did you choose the NC State Jenkins MBA program for your graduate education?

A: Reputation of the program and flexibility

Q: How did your experience in the program contribute to your professional achievements and successes?

A: I have received two promotions since finishing the program just over a year ago. I work in a job that I absolutely love with the ability to continue moving upwards.

Q: What did you enjoy most about your time in the Jenkins MBA program?

A: The networking and continuous learning from both professors and classmates.

Q: What advice would you give for prospective and current students who are interested in your industry/profession?

A: The pharmaceutical research industry is continuously growing. There are ample opportunities from project management to corporate positions. Many of the largest CRO’s (IQVIA, Syneos Health) have their corporate headquarters in RTP providing a lot of opportunity. My background was not in finance however I chose to concentrate my MBA in finance. Every job in the corporate world requires some understanding of finance. It has helped me immensely in growing my career.

Q: What advice do you have for prospective Jenkins MBA students?

A: Absorb as much information as possible. Don’t try to rush to finish the program if you have the ability. Take part in practicum courses such as the Jenkins consulting course where you can put your new education to practice.

Q: Could you give a brief explanation of your current line of work, and what has led you to it?

A: I work for Syneos Health, a contract research organization, as a proposal manager. I lead our teams to provide responses to RFPs as they are received from pharmaceutical companies. I work with the teams to ensure our responses are accurate and competitive.

Q: What do you believe is your most interesting accomplishment since graduation?

A: I have received two promotions over the past year since graduation furthering my career in a direction I would otherwise not have been able to.

Q: What are your goals and plans for the future?

A: Continue to climb the corporate ladder within my company with the goal of working in executive leadership.
