The Jenkins MBA program requires all students own or have access to a laptop computer. Please note that some classes use software not compatible with Apple products so if you opt for an Apple product, you may need to work with University IT support services to address compatibility issues.
Students will need access to a computer that will
run application software compatible with MS Windows 7.
For more information and additional NC State recommendations on laptop purchases, please see:
Office of Information Technology and Poole College Computing Staff
The Office of Information Technology provides campus-wide computing and technology services for students, faculty and staff. All official communications from NC State will come to your NC State email address (UnityID@ncsu.edu), or through MyPack Portal. Remember that NC State and OIT will never request your password so do not reply to any such request.
Additionally, the Poole College of Management Computing Services Department provides computing services and support for the faculty, staff and students of the College of Management during regular working hours, Monday through Friday.
Main office: 2410 Nelson Hall, Box 8614
OIT supports nine public Unity computer labs which are open to all NC State students, faculty, and staff. These labs include printers. When you print to them, the cost of the print job will be debited from your AllCampus account. Users of the university’s computing resources must abide by the NC State regulations and rules for student IT use as well as the rules and procedures governing the use of computing labs.
Copyright Laws and Computer Use Policies
Complying with federal and state laws relating to computer use — including copyright laws, as well as NC State Policies, Regulations, and Rules relating to computer use on campus — is the responsibility of each individual student. Compliance with these rules is taken extremely seriously at NC State and OIT actively monitors the network to maintain that compliance in accordance with federal law. For more information visit the OIT Student IT Use Web site at go.ncsu.edu/student-it-use.
The university’s official computer use policies and regulations are available at ncsu.edu/policies/informationtechnology. Also see the Copyright Infringement Web site at ncsu.edu/copyright and the Peer-to-Peer file sharing site at oit.ncsu.edu/p2p.
