Exploring Careers Through the Jenkins MBA Internship Experience
For Jenkins Full-time MBA students, summer is where career goals begin to take shape. Meet six students whose summer internships spanned consulting, AI, supply chain, product management, healthcare and entrepreneurship.
After spending their first year building new skills and exploring potential career paths, our Full-Time MBA students head into internships that allow them to apply those skills in professional settings, expand their networks and gain experience in the industries they’re hoping to enter.
This summer, Jenkins MBA students worked everywhere from global consulting firms and Fortune 500 companies to startup organizations, taking on projects in AI, analytics, supply chain, product management and more — putting their skills to work while gaining firsthand experience.

Beatrice Faureng — Consulting Intern, EY Norway

Area(s) of Focus: Leadership; Artificial Intelligence
Graduate Certificate(s): Business Leadership; Business Artificial Intelligence
This summer, Beatrice has been working within EY Norway’s People Consulting practice on a cross-functional client engagement focused on attracting future talent and adapting to evolving workforce expectations. Her role has included conducting market analysis, identifying emerging trends and helping clients prioritize strategies in a rapidly changing environment.
Internship highlight: “The highlight has been working with incredibly collaborative colleagues and interns and experiencing how EY brings together different service lines to solve complex client challenges. The cross-functional nature of my project has made the experience especially fun.”
Long-term goal: To help organizations create meaningful value through people-focused strategies, talent development and organizational change.




Elmer Gbedee — Supply Chain Analyst Intern, Shure Incorporated

Area(s) of Focus: Supply Chain and Operations
Graduate Certificate(s): Supply Chain and Operations
Building on his experience as a functional consultant at Oracle NetSuite, Elmer has been supporting Shure’s procurement team as the company implements its SAP S/4HANA migration. Throughout the summer, he has gained firsthand experience with strategic planning and supply chain operations within a global manufacturing organization.
Internship highlight: “The people I’ve met have been the highlight of my internship. I’ve also enjoyed the company’s unique events, such as live employee band concerts.”
Long-term goal: To become a director or manager of supply chain operations.


Tucker Hearon — Professional Services Digital Transformation Consulting Intern, NetApp

Area(s) of Focus: Business Analytics; Artificial Intelligence
Graduate Certificate(s): Business Artificial Intelligence
Following five years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, Tucker has spent the summer supporting NetApp’s Digital Strategy and Innovation team by analyzing user engagement data, developing reporting frameworks and identifying ways to measure the business impact of AI-enabled knowledge management solutions. His work has helped leadership translate platform usage data into actionable insights.
Internship highlight: “The highlight has been owning a project that directly supports leadership decision-making and having the opportunity to present my findings to stakeholders across the organization. It has been exciting to see how my work can contribute to real business outcomes.”
Long-term goal: To build a career in consulting, strategy or data analytics, helping organizations solve complex business challenges through data, AI and digital transformation.


Ainur Mingazova — Technology Commercialization Consultant, SBTDC

Area(s) of Focus: Artificial Intelligence; Product Management
Graduate Certificate(s): Technology Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (TEC); Business Artificial Intelligence
Drawing on more than six years of experience in HR marketing and product management, Ainur has spent the summer working with startup clients through the Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), helping them navigate commercialization challenges and bring innovative ideas to market. The experience has provided firsthand exposure to North Carolina’s startup ecosystem while strengthening her consulting and client relationship skills.
Internship highlight: “The opportunity to work with wonderful clients who are building impactful products in the healthcare sector, the chance to learn so much from them, and simply the pleasure of collaborating with them!”
Long-term goal: To transition into a product management role focused on AI and emerging technologies within the entertainment industry.

Kyle Ogle — Americas Analytics Intern, Align Technology

Area(s) of Focus: Business Analytics; Finance
Graduate Certificate(s): Business Analytics; Finance
Kyle has spent the summer with Align Technology’s analytics team, performing exploratory data analysis, creating dashboards and visualizations, and collaborating with finance, marketing and operations teams to answer key business questions related to the company’s iTero product line. His work has included using SQL and Power BI to transform data into insights for stakeholders.
Internship highlight: “My internship cohort has been very supportive, outgoing, and so endearing throughout this whole process.”
Long-term goal: To pursue a career that combines analytics, risk management and compliance testing.

Blake Robling — Product Manager, IBM Infrastructure Expert Labs

Area(s) of Focus: Entrepreneurship
Graduate Certificate(s): Technology Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (TEC); Supply Chain and Operations
Blake has been helping IBM evaluate its existing services portfolio, identify new market opportunities and develop service offerings that support business growth across multiple industries. The internship has given him experience combining product management, market analysis and strategic planning within a global technology organization.
Internship highlight: “The highlight of my internship experience has been the opportunity to collaborate closely with both fellow MBA students and experienced professionals. Working alongside talented individuals from diverse backgrounds at an innovative organization has provided valuable learning opportunities.”
Long-term goal: To leverage the experience and skills gained through the Jenkins MBA to launch his own business venture.
