Research and Industry Experience
Dr. Donnie Hale’s research interests lie in the development of human capital and human capital resources at both the individual and organizational levels. He utilizes analytics to understand how these emergent properties develop over time within organizations, investigating topics such as the impact of turnover on human capital resources and the influence of labor markets. With almost 15 years in financial services and extensive consulting experience prior to academia, Dr. Hale brings a rich industry perspective. He leverages these experiences to ensure that complex analytic concepts are taught in a practical and applicable manner for the modern business world.

Outside the Classroom
Dr. Hale grew up on a tobacco farm in Wake County, which fostered a unique appreciation for vintage items like old advertising signs, farm implements, jars, trucks, and books. He openly shares this interest and encourages others to notify him if they come across such items. A self-proclaimed admirer, he considers Bojangles tea to be “life’s sweet nectar.”
